Client Challenge

Headquartered in Kingsbury, Indiana, Alexander Chemical Corporation manufactures industrial chemicals such as bleach and hydrochloric acid for the wholesale market. They required a high-capacity water treatment system capable of producing up to 94,000 gallons per day to support their blending process. The system needed to handle poor feed water quality and pressure inconsistencies while integrating seamlessly into their chemical mixing operations.

Besco Solution

Besco Commercial engineered and installed a custom 94,000-gallon-per-day treatment system specifically designed to meet Alexander Chemical’s production demands. The system includes a boost pump to address low incoming pressure, an iron filter to eliminate metallic contaminants, and carbon backwash filters to reduce chlorine and organics. It also includes a continuous anti-scalant injection system to treat hardness. This approach eliminated the need for a traditional water softener. Treated water is stored in a 10,000-gallon tank and pumped directly into the client’s chemical formulation lines.

This was the second full system purchased by Alexander Chemical from Besco, reflecting their deep confidence in the partnership. The customer chose not to seek secondary pricing, opting to move forward based on past performance and trust. The system was installed earlier this year and is now maintained on a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure peak performance and long-term reliability.
