Benefits of Using the Right Commercial Water Treatment

Selecting a Water Treatment System

Water is all around us and we often take its quality and purity for granted. If you operate a business that depends on using purified water every day, you know how important it is to have reliable quality water. Each industry and business has specific needs for their water and so their water treatment solutions will justly reflect their industry’s needs. Some common types of commercial water treatment solutions include:

  • Reverse osmosis systems
  • Carbon filtration
  • Deionization systems
  • Ultra violet water treatment
  • EDI (electrodeionization) water treatments
  • Dealkalization systems
  • Degasification systems

Various Industries Use Water Treatment Systems

Purified RO water for commercial use Many businesses need a solution when it comes to a purified and treated water supply. Many products on the market today have water as one of their primary ingredients. Some industries that don’t even create products that contain water may still require purified water for cleaning, sanitation and other purposes. This fact makes it a commercial necessity for a wide array of industries to have a water treatment solution that they can rely upon. One of the many industries that require purified, odorless and tasteless water include the food and beverage industry. If you are in the beverage industry, having the cleanest water possible is a must and cannot be taken lightly. If you are in a research and development or medical science industry, having a consistently pure water source is vital. An experiment or controlled environment needs to have a water treatment solution that can be relied on to provide water that won’t have an impact on research and test results.

Benefits of Using a Reverse Osmosis System

The ability for a RO system to remove unwanted particles found in a water supply combined with a low consumption of energy to operate make RO water systems a smart choice for businesses. The process of reverse osmosis has another beneficial aspect for commercial use and that is the absence of harmful chemicals used in the process. In our modern age, being environmentally conscious is more important than ever. Using a reverse osmosis system means that a business is making an environmentally and public relations responsible choice when it comes to their water treatment solution.

Deionization

Tropical fish in a deionized aquarium There are several reasons to incorporate deionization into your water treatment system. Deionized water is water that has had all total dissolved solids removed from it, making it suitable for automotive, manufacturing, glass cleaning, and kidney dialysis. Deionized water can be used in aquariums because of its ability to prevent non-desirable algae from forming. High powered lasers can be cooled with deionized water better because of its low conductivity.

EDI Water Treatment Systems

EDI stands for electrodeionization and is sometimes known as CEDI or continuous elctrodeionization. EDI water treatment systems don’t use chemicals, and instead employ slightly electrically charged membranes to remove residual salts, silica, ammonia, boron and carbon dioxide from water. EDI water treatment systems can be used in power generation, semiconductors, microelectronics, pharmaceuticals and even in food and beverage applications.

  1. Wow, I didn’t realize that there were so many options available when it came to choosing a water purification system. I had always been under the impression that a good, strong filter would be enough to get the job done. However, I can definitely see why something like deionization would be important for places like hospitals and placed where extremely pure water is needed.
